posted 01/30/2010 The Coon Rapids Soccer Association is proud to introduce Ryan Hodgson, as our new Director of Coaching and Player Development. Ryan will officially take on the position on February 15, 2010 after fulfilling his current employment obligations.

Mr. Hodgson is originally from England were he earned a UEFA B coaching license. He came to the states as a young man and currently resides in Blaine, Minnesota with his wife and child.
Ryan spent three years at Brainerd High School coaching the junior varsity, earning a record of 55-4-2 during that time. He coached teams to three straight conference championships, two section titles, and 2 state appearances. Ryan was named the Section 8AA Assistant Varsity Coach of the Year in 2007. His most recent coaching assignment was with the 2009 Northern Lights U15 C1 Girls, who finished as runner up in the MYSA State Championship.
Ryan has served as a camp director for Challenger Soccer, the largest soccer coaching company in the USA. He has traveled over 44 of our 50 states during his time with the company. Ryan has most recently worked as a trainer with Coerver.
As a school boy, Ryan play with Middlesbrough Football Club in England. He went on to play NCAA Division One soccer out of Green Bay, WI. Ryan enjoyed a final four appearance in the NAIA National Championship. He also played briefly with the Charlotte Eagles in North Carolina.
While attending college, Ryan served as a volunteer director of coaching for several St. Louis area clubs (Fenton Athletic Association, Coca Cola Soccer Club, and Woodchips Soccer Club).
If you are a soccer movie buff, you may have already seen Mr. Hodgson. Check out “The Miracle Match” a movie about the 1950s USA side defeating England 1-0 in world cup play. Watch for Ryan as he scores a goal for England in the match preceding the world cup match.
