Rec soccer

The purpose of rec soccer is to provide an opportunity for players to have fun, without as much emphasis on advanced tactical or technical instruction and wins. It's a chance to learn the sport and develop life skills including a lifelong love of the game.

One of the most common questions that comes up every rec season is about ages, birth years, and why the younger players are playing with "older players".

The simple answer is: they are all in the same age category. Your player's "soccer age" is determined by the age they will turn in the registering season. So, you may have a player who is currently 5 years old, but will turn 6 years old at some point in 2021. This means they are in the 6U (or 6 years old and under) age grouping (see the birth year guidelines chart for all age groupings). We follow guidelines set by the Minnesota Youth Soccer Association and United States Youth Soccer Association.
