During the long, cold Minnesota winter months, our recreational soccer program moves indoors and provides an opportunity for participants aged 3 – 6th grade to learn and enjoy the game of soccer in a fun, safe and structured environment.

Winter Session: Saturdays, Jan. 15 – April 2 (no soccer March 12 or 19).

Programming will run 45 minutes for Pre-K kids and 55-minute sessions for all others. Times will be from 8:00 a.m. –  12:00 p.m. for the age groups below.

No Prior Experience Required: Our focus is to provide a positive environment for all children, while offering opportunities for motor skill development, exercise, social interaction and above all, an unprecedented fun soccer experience playing with friends.

Learning: Participants will learn the fundamental skills of soccer; dribbling, passing and shooting, through structured activities, fun games and scrimmages. In addition to having a great time playing soccer, children will develop social interaction and communication skills.

From improving the pull back to working on an inside hook or feint, players will focus on individual core soccer skills and have an opportunity to put those skills into practice with their team.

Open to players age 3 through Grade 6, players must be 3 by Nov. 1, 2021. Training is offered indoors at Adrenaline Sports Center in Ramsey. This program is provided by Northern Lights Soccer Club in partnership with CR United Soccer Club.

Volunteer Coaches Required: The success of this joint recreational soccer program is dependent upon parents who are willing to coach. Coaches need not have soccer experience to apply! Each session on the field will run 55 minutes and follow a play/practice/play format.

Our staff will run a coaching clinic in January at Adrenaline for all winter soccer coaches. This clinic will include hands-on skills training and coaches should dress accordingly.

If you are able to assist in any way, please check the ‘volunteer to coach’ box during your child’s registration process. You will be reimbursed half the cost of your registration at the end of the program if you’ve met all the winter coaching requirements including a background check, concussion training and SafeSport training.
